About us

Consulting with purpose and responsibility

We undertake our work through a global cooperative network that operates fully remotely. Our business model minimises our fixed costs enabling us to provide high-quality services and excellent value for money for our clients.

Our network brings together experienced professionals from diverse disciplinary backgrounds, with both global and regional expertise, so that we can mobilise for each assignment the most appropriate set of required qualifications, experience and skills.

ICDC works in close partnership with a vetted pool of associate consultants across sub-Saharan Africa, the MENA region, Europe, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Indian subcontinent.

ICDC brings together specialists from multiple disciplines, allowing us to approach complex challenges from complementary analytical perspectives.

Our network bridges contexts and cultures, providing a deep understanding of local nuances and power dynamics, facilitating access to communities and supporting the development of contextually relevant findings.

ICDC’s flexible structure enables rapid mobilisation of multidisciplinary teams tailored to each assignment, from small-scale technical reviews to complex multi-country evaluations.

We are guided by a commitment to justice—epistemic, political, economic, social, and environmental—and by the principles of human rights, equity, honesty, transparency, humility, fairness, dignity and respect. Our approach combines value-anchored realism with innovative, up-to-date methodologies, including epistemically just and decolonising practices that recognise diverse forms of knowledge.

We recognise that those best positioned to understand organisations—their challenges, constraints and practical opportunities—are the people working directly in them. Our role is to bring together evidence generated through the assignment, expert advice and insights from comparable experiences to support informed decision-making. For this reason, we adopt a co-creation approach across all our consultancies, engaging stakeholders to identify solutions and approaches.

We view evaluation as a process that should create value for all stakeholders, including clients, partners and served communities. We systematically engage key groups to understand their expectations and identify the knowledge and learning they would value most. We do this with consideration of existing power dynamics, creating space for the voices, perspectives and interests of communities to be heard and reflected.
